I was doing my laps this afternoon. Up and down the hallway in my building. Me and my walker (Wilomena) The weather is cool and overcast so I decided to stay inside for my exercise today. I usually do my laps later in the evening. But for some reason I decided to do a few this afternoon. And I have to believe I know why I chose that time when I usually don't ~ KARMA!
I happened to be about two doors away from Darrens apartment. Normally he is like a vampire and just stays inside his unit all day and night only coming out for supplies and to smoke in the gazebo. So I don't worry about running into him when I do laps. But today,... just as I was rounding the bend and entering his end of the hallway, he came out. He was carrying a black garbage bag so he was obviously going to the garbage room which meant he would have to walk right past me. I normally look him strait in the eye when we pass. I always want him to know that I have done nothing wrong and therefore I have nothing to hide or be ashamed of. He knows this because each time this happens he can never hold my gaze. He quidkly flicks his eyes to mine - sees I am looking straight at him - so he darts his eyes to the ground like the guilty low life bottom feeder that he is. And just like other times, I did the same today. He was flustered when he came out and saw me right there. He tried looking me in the eye but couldn't. He locked his door with his key but as he was trying to scurry away the lanyard for his key caught the doorknob and it jerked him backwards as he tried to run away. It was priceless. I couldn't help but snicker. It served him right. And I also had to believe that in this 24 hour day, Darren choosing this moment to come out of his unit and do that ~ was just poetic KARMA to me. For him to hear me giggle under my breath was payback to me. I firmly believe in Karma. You never have to resort to revenge when you get shit on by someone because if you just stand back and wait ~ it usually arrives when you least expect it. Like today,... If I had been 30 seconds earlier or later I would have missed it. But KARMA told me to come out right then when it happened. Just a little thing. But with all the shit that kid has put me through this one little thing just let me smile. I didn't have to do a thing,... except watch and giggle and let him know I saw it. Because Darren is a rager and I know that things like this INFURIATE him and this will bug him for awhile. I don't get a lot of positives in my life,... so let me enjoy the few I do get.
