Way back in the 1990's I used to listen to a British singer named David Gray. To this day he is still one of my favourite artists of all time. And he sang this song. Night Blindness. But the most famous line of the whole song is,...
"What we gonna do when the money runs out? I wish that there was something left to say. Where we goin' to find the eyes to see a brighter day?
He so perfectly captures the panic and fear of not having money and your life being so precarious you don't even know if you will see tomorrow. And today,... this is exactly how I feel. Paniced,... And for some reason this line from this song keeps replaying in my head,...
"What we gonna do when the money runs out?"
(or in my case what am I gonna do when the eviction comes through?)
Today I literally sit here in panic. I can feel that time is running out,... that money and my home are running out,... that my life is coming to an end,... and I can feel the panic. I can actually FEEL the rising panic and fear.
I am sat here waiting for an ax to fall ~ and this is no way to live. Scared,... in a panic,... and on top of all that,... PAIN.
I have no idea what I am going to do. I feel the only choice available to me now is suicide. THAT is what I can do. And THAT leaves me in just as much panic and fear.
There just doesn't seem to be an answer for me,...
just suicide
A million to one outsiders
Night blindness can't see
Your bright eyes are what
The time is twenty five past eternity
Here listenin' to the sorrow
Comin' closer now further away
What we gonna do?
When the money runs out
I wish that there was somethin' left to say
Where we goin' to find the eyes to see
A brighter day?
I'm sick of all the same romances
Lost chances, cold storms
Proppin' mountains up on matchsticks
Draggin' baskets full of bones
Honey, please don't stop your talkin'
'Cause there's a feeling, won't leave me alone
What we gonna do?
When the money runs out
I wish that there was somethin' I could say
How we goin' to find the eyes to see
A brighter day?
What we gonna do?
When the money runs out
I wish that there was somethin' left to say
How we goin' to find the eyes to see
A brighter day?
A brighter day
A brighter day
