Looking out my window today I see it's perfect for a pajama day. Cold,... rainy,... grey,... And after my marathon walk yesterday I am too sore to function today. So I have tucked myself up under my blanket and am now watching Coronation Street. My hiatus hernia is acting up again,... not too bad but it's there. A low gripy pain right in the middle of my chest. Distracting but not terrible. Just a bit annoying. I haven't been able to eat because of it. When this flares up I usually just cope until it goes away. Sometimes it gets worse and I have to call 911 for the pain but I usually give it about 3 days before I do that. The joys of no doctor,.. 911 is my health care now. Sad,... (not to mention a drain on the emergency resources)
Neither of my teams are playing today even though it is game day. Both play tomorrow. (Manchester United & Toronto FC) So today I just relax. Rest up,... and wait for the pain to subside to a funcional level once again. My mood is good,... it's the pain that is bad.
I was in touch with my friend Becky and we're hoping to get together sometime in the next few weeks. I'm looking forward to that. My Nana used to say that "A change is as good as a rest" and she is right. Just getting away from this 'compound' always leaves me feeling refreshed and rejuvinated. I have been hidden away inside for 7 months now and I have a severe case of cabin fever. I need to get back outside into the real world once again. Let's just hope Ontario finally starts to see some spring weather soon so I can get out. Until then,... I have my football.
