If only I could win the lottery,...

Well, this apartment has gone from a "place to sleep" to a "home". And for the first time in months I am laughing again. This little ball of energy has me smiling the whole day now. I used to get up and know that I had 16 to 18 hours to fill up with nothing to do. I would then spend the day bored out of my mind watching tv. Now, my day is full again. How can such a tiny little thing bring so much joy?

The first night I had her, I got no sleep. She is a biter and would attack me (playing) all night long. So I watched a bunch of Jackson Galaxy videos and learned all about biting and how to distract them,... etc,... it must have worked because last night she played for about 5 minutes but then left me alone and I got to sleep for the rest of the night. But at 6:00 I was awoken to a hungry kitty biting my nose looking for her breakfast.

I ordered a cat tree off of Amazon that is coming today. My apartment went from bare to full of 'cat stuff' overnight. I also ordered a few things for myself for my birthday. When I got my settlement money, I put $1000 away as I knew I would be wanting to adopt a cat in the near future. I wanted to make sure that I could afford one. Now, I have bought everything she needs the only expense left is the vet and her spaying which is what the money was put aside for. But even after all this I still had a few hundred dollars left over. So I treated myself for my birthday. Every year I try and buy myself one football related article of clothing. Because they are licensed they are expensive. So I can only afford them once in awhile - usually on my birthday each year. This year I knew I needed a new jacket. I gave my old one away before I went to BC. So I figured instead of getting a cheap Walmart jacket - I would splurge and get myself a Manchester United jacket. Because there was a sale on, I also ordered a hoodie and a housecoat. Was it expensive? Yes. But when it comes to my football,... And the quality of this stuff is excellent. I have hoodies from 15 years ago that still look great.

So the past few days have been awesome. A new kitty,... splurging on footy gear,... it just feels like I am living again instead of sitting here rotting.

Now, all I have to do is figure out a way to get out of Fergus and my life will be back on track. But until that happens I am couped up inside my unit. Hiding.

If I could only win the lottery. I wonder how much you would have to have to get out of the system and start up somewhere else? Can it be done? And if so how? Maybe I need to start buying lottery tickets.
