It's the little things in life I enjoy the most

Wow, yesterday was a bad day. I ended up going back to bed until dinnertime. I had one last game to watch so I thought I would try and put a line under the bad morning and start again fresh at 5:00pm. My friend P** came over and treated me to pizza, chicken wings and Caesar salad,... it was a feast. I don't get to eat like that often so I really enjoyed it. Especially since it was during the game. What goes better with footy than pizza and chicken wings? And my day (evening?) went better after that.

Since the article has ran in the Daily Mail about my plight, several people have reached out through social media. Most were just saying they read the article and wanted me to know they cared. Which is actually pretty nice as for the past few years I have felt like no one cared. But a handful of people stuck out and I ended up having some lovely chats with a few individuals. They are from all over the world. New Zealand,... Britain,... the US,... but one in particular really caught my eye and made me smile. It was from a girl who lives in Mount Forest which is literally right down the road from Fergus (where I live). She said she is estranged from her family and new to the area. In our chat,... among other things she said "I love chatting and cooking food,..." and for some reason that made me laugh. I could really use a chatty person in my life right now. So we connected and she is going to stop by sometime soon for a visit. I am actually looking forward to it. It is exactly what I need right now. Young and fresh and lively! I need to breath new life into myself.

I still can't sleep though. Here it is 4:30 in the morning and I am wide awake. A few hours ago I was lying in bed watching tv when I started to feel a bit peckish. Normally I have trained myself to just ignore the hunger and it will soon go away. But tonight I remembered I had leftovers! I actually smiled and got up and heated up some chicken wings. I then took them to my room and I sat in my bed and I ate them. That is something I have never done before. But tonight I thought what the hell,... I am going to eat some leftover chicken wings in bed and I don't give a rats ass if I get sauce on the sheets or the cover. And so I sat in bed and watched Ted Lasso while I feasted on my chicken wings. And I enjoyed every finger licken one of them. When you live in poverty,... take-out is a luxury. And the amount of food I had tonight is definitely not normal. So I made sure that I enjoyed that take-out just as P** intended me to. My sheets did get dirty,... and I still don't give a rats ass about it.
